The short version: We collect only what we need to make AirGuide work. We do not sell your data. Ever.
1. Who We Are
AirGuide ("we", "us", "our") is an airport navigation app that provides real-time flight data, TSA wait estimates, gate alerts, and step-by-step terminal walkthroughs. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. What Data We Collect
We collect only the minimum data required to provide the service:
- Email address — if you join our waitlist or sign up for launch notifications. We use this only to notify you when BLE indoor navigation or new airport coverage launches.
- Account credentials — if you create an account, we store your email address and a securely hashed password via Supabase. We never see or store your raw password.
- Anonymous usage data — page views, feature interactions (e.g. which airport tab you opened), session duration, and error logs. This data is not linked to any personally identifiable information.
- Approximate location — only if you grant permission, and only to auto-detect which airport you're at. We do not store or transmit your precise GPS coordinates to our servers.
- TSA wait time reports — when you voluntarily submit a wait time, we store the airport code, checkpoint, wait duration, and a timestamp. No user account is required; submissions are anonymous.
- Push notification tokens — if you subscribe to gate or flight alerts, we store the browser push subscription object to deliver notifications. This token is tied to your device, not your identity.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To deliver the core app features: flight data, TSA estimates, gate alerts, and walkthrough steps.
- To send you a single notification when the BLE indoor navigation feature launches, if you opted in via the waitlist.
- To understand which features are most useful so we can improve the app.
- To diagnose and fix errors and crashes.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose not listed above.
4. We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with third parties for their marketing or commercial purposes. Full stop.
The only third-party services we use are:
- FlightAware AeroAPI — for live flight data. Your flight searches are not tied to your identity.
- Google Fonts — for typography. Standard browser font-loading requests apply.
- Netlify — for static site hosting. Standard CDN access logs apply.
- Railway — for backend hosting. Server request logs apply.
- Supabase — for user authentication. Stores your email address and encrypted password securely. Subject to Supabase's privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
5. Data Retention
- Waitlist email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
- Anonymous usage logs are retained for up to 12 months, then deleted.
- TSA wait time reports are retained indefinitely in aggregated, anonymous form.
- Push notification tokens are retained until they expire or you revoke browser notification permission.
- User account data is retained until you request account deletion by emailing [email protected].
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
- Request deletion of your email address from our waitlist at any time.
- Revoke location permission in your browser or device settings at any time.
- Revoke push notification permission in your browser settings at any time.

7. Cookies and Local Storage
AirGuide uses browser localStorage to remember your selected airport, TSA submission status, and notification preferences between sessions. No tracking cookies are set. No cross-site data is shared.
8. Children's Privacy
AirGuide is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We will not retroactively change how we handle previously collected data without your consent.
